You might get some divine power! ? Go to [Nudokubiabu]
If you go to Miyakojima, I highly recommend visiting Nudokubiabu!
It's just a 5-minute drive from Irabu Bridge, but it doesn't feel like a tourist spot at all!
It's in the middle of a sugarcane field, and there are no obvious landmarks or signs nearby.
There is a sign in front of the entrance to Nudokubiabu, but it's hard to find. Park your car nearby and walk down through the grass, wondering, "Do I enter from here? Is there a path?!"
After the rain, the ground gets muddy and slippery, and your shoes get covered in mud, so be careful.
I went down while holding on to the ivy around me like a lifeline.
Finally, I went down a steep stone staircase to the end of the road.
I felt a great sense of accomplishment when I reached the end!
I entered a vertical cavern that was formed over a long period of time by rainwater dissolving the Ryukyu limestone, and it was a whopping 22m deep!
Light was streaming in through the gaps in the long, narrow cave, creating a sacred atmosphere.
The roots of the trees growing on the ground stretch out like vines into the Nudokubiabu, and if you go there after it rains, the water droplets dripping from the vines as they catch the light are fantastic!
Origin of the name: In the Miyakojima dialect, "Nudokubi" means "throat" and "Abu" means "vertical hole/cave."

It is a naturally formed 22m deep vertical hole in a sugarcane field, and was used as an air raid shelter during World War II.

[Okinawa Prefecture] Irabu Island's leading power spot: Nudokubiabu
Miyakojima, Okinawa Prefecture 🏝️
From there, we crossed the Irabu Bridge, Japan's longest and most spectacular bridge, to Irabu Island
Here, there is a super power spot that is not even on the guide map, but is known only to those in the know...✨
If you leave the Google Maps route and run through the sugarcane fields, you will come across Irabu Island's strongest power spot, "Nudokubiabu."
This is a huge underground cavity created by nature...
Because of the location, there were no people around, and in front of me was a breathtaking view that made me purr 😳
The atmosphere was like a cave, like a limestone cave, and the faint sound of dripping water could be heard.
There was no altar or god-like monument in particular.
Despite the rugged rocks and the roots of the banyan tree hanging down from above, sunlight poured in gently from the cracked ceiling, creating a mysterious atmosphere befitting the name of a power spot. 😌
It's like an adventure where you've wandered into the world of "Indiana Jones" and you can enjoy the mysterious scenery that is unique to the island. ✌️
-------------------------------------
[Access🚗]
Miyako Airport From there, head towards Irabu Island.
After crossing the Irabu Bridge and entering Irabu Island, it takes about 15 minutes.
*Google Maps is not very helpful, and there are many forks in the road after entering the sugarcane fields, so please refer to the directions website on the internet when you go. 🙏
[Caution ⚠️]
After arriving near the site, the road to Nudokubiabu was more jungle than I expected...😅
There are rugged rocks and exposed banyan tree roots, and the footing is quite poor and it is easy to slip! If you go in flip-flops, you will regret it, so I recommend you to always go in sneakers or athletic shoes.

This is Okinawa's remote islands! Nudokubiabu & Tooriike Pond
Location: Okinawa Prefecture remote island (Miyakojima)
Island: Nudokubiabu on Irabu Island
Island: Tooriike Pond on Shimoji Island
Mystery: ★★★★★
A power spot featured in the in-flight magazine. It wasn't on my schedule, but I went anyway 💡
Nudokubiabu❗Jungle❗I never thought I'd come to a resort and experience this genre😆❗Even though it was daytime, it was dark and the inside of the cave felt mysterious.
Tooriike Pond❗A dream destination for divers. A magnificent scenic spot that can be seen even from above❗
There are many untouched areas left, and I enjoyed the spectacular views of the remote island.
