This was our first trip to Romania. In addition to staying in Bucharest for 5 nights, we chose to visit three ancient medieval cities in Transylvania: Brasov, Sibiu and Sighisoara. The 12th-century ancient city is not only a tourist attraction, but also home to many Romanians who still live today. Unlike the ancient tourist towns and cities we have been to where there are no local residents, it is full of fireworks and very real. 🇷🇴 Bratislava We stayed in this medieval castle built by the Transylvanian Saxons in the 13th century for 2 nights and spent a day and a half wandering around the ancient city, slowly experiencing the peaceful and leisurely life brought by the slow pace here. Take a ride to the Brasov Big Character Observation Deck to overlook the entire ancient city, which is the most exciting. Those who like mountain climbing can also choose to hike up the mountain (1 hour) and then take the cable car down. 🇷🇴Sibiu The ancient city founded by the Transylvanian Saxons in the 12th century has a population less than half that of Brasov. It is quieter and quieter, and there are not many people on the streets on Saturdays. The "Eye of Sibiu" is a special feature here. The vents on the roof of the house look like eyes guarding this ancient city. It was included in the World Heritage candidate list in 2004.
