Cingjing Slow Time|Lai Fu Ju Glass House: A Healing Experience with No-Menu Cuisine and Afternoon Desserts
This time in Cingjing, we chose "Lai Fu Ju Glass House Scenic Restaurant / Afternoon Tea" to enjoy both lunch and afternoon tea, indulging in a healing experience for both the palate and the soul. It's also a pet-friendly restaurant, perfect for sharing joyful moments with your furry friends.
We opted for the no-menu cuisine, featuring a combination of beef and pork dishes that kept us eagerly anticipating each surprise course. The meal began with a fresh salad and the chef's homemade appetizers, followed by Spanish-style pan-seared codfish—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with aroma. There were also Japanese-style fried seasonal vegetables, served with matcha salt or tempura sauce, each offering a unique flavor. The beef set came with a special side dish of cabbage and egg tofu, which was light and smooth, adding a delicate touch to the meal. The meal also included a bowl of hot soup and seasonal fruits, creating a rich and layered dining experience. The rice was unlimited, so you could refill as much as you wanted. Initially, we worried about not being full, but that concern turned out to be unnecessary—we were completely satisfied, and the flavors were delightful.
After dining, we headed upstairs to the scenic terrace, where we enjoyed unlimited refills of hot tea and coffee while gazing at the mountain views of Cingjing. The sunny weather bathed the open corridor in warm light, creating a relaxing and cozy atmosphere.
We couldn't resist ordering two desserts—cinnamon rolls and handmade cookies. The cinnamon rolls were fragrant and flaky, while the handmade cookies were crispy and not overly sweet, providing the perfect ending to our afternoon tea. The cookies were so tempting that we ate several before remembering to take photos.
With beautiful scenery, great weather, and a cheerful mood, this place is not just a dining spot but also a corner where you can slow down and truly immerse yourself in the serene mountain ambiance of Cingjing. It's definitely worth visiting and revisiting.
They also offer accommodations here, which seem like a great option for an overnight stay. However, pets are not allowed in the lodging area.
