☕ Mixed Brew at Starbucks One Holland Village
I recently popped into the Starbucks at One Holland Village for a quick caffeine fix, but the experience left me a bit underwhelmed. Despite having three staff behind the counter, the service was unexpectedly slow—my takeaway order took almost ten minutes, which felt long given the busy crowd.
What stood out more than the wait, though, was the untidiness around the service area, especially near the rubbish bin. It was cluttered and didn’t give off the clean, welcoming vibe you’d expect from a Starbucks.
That said, the location is a plus—it’s conveniently situated and always buzzing with energy. If they could tighten up the speed of service and keep the area tidier, this branch could easily become a favorite. For now, it’s more of a hit-or-miss stop depending on timing.

🐾 Paw-some Birthday Celebration at Surrey Hills Grocer - One Holland Village
We celebrated our dog’s first birthday at Surrey Hills Grocer in One Holland Village—and what a lovely experience it was! This pet-friendly café was the perfect place to mark the occasion with the whole family, fur kid included.
The staff were warm, attentive, and truly made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They even surprised our dog with a complimentary snack, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The kids had a great time, and the outdoor space made it easy for everyone (including the dog) to relax and enjoy the day.
As for the food—it was top-notch. Every dish we ordered was flavorful, well-cooked, and beautifully presented. You can really tell the kitchen takes pride in quality ingredients and solid culinary skills.
Whether you’re a pet parent looking for a nice spot to dine or simply after a quality meal in a charming setting, Surrey Hills Grocer is a wonderful choice.

A Hearty Delight at Lao Wang Claypot Legacy – The Star: Sesame Chicken
During my recent culinary adventure, I discovered a hidden gem that truly celebrates the essence of comfort food – Lao Wang Claypot Legacy. Nestled in a cozy corner, this eatery serves up soul-warming claypot dishes, but the highlight of my visit was their signature Sesame Chicken.
Served bubbling hot in a rustic claypot, the sesame chicken instantly captivated me with its rich aroma. The chicken was tender, marinated to perfection, and coated in a luscious, slightly sweet soy-sesame glaze that clung to every bite. The flavors were deep, with just the right balance of sweetness and nuttiness from the toasted sesame seeds. Each mouthful felt like a warm embrace — hearty, nostalgic, and incredibly satisfying.
What stood out even more was the traditional cooking method that sealed in the flavors, delivering a depth you can only achieve with time-honored claypot techniques. It’s not just a dish; it’s a tribute to culinary heritage.
Whether you’re a food lover or a seeker of authentic local flavors, Lao Wang Claypot Legacy is a must-visit. Don’t miss their sesame chicken — it’s comfort food at its finest!

Second visit to Ginkyo
Ginkyo by Kinki at One Holland is one of the fancy Japanese bar that serves amazing food! This was my second time here and it never disappoints me :) in fact, I was pleasantly surprised by the food today, all the dishes today was amazing!! We were here early so they managed to give us a table without making any reservations. The staffs are super friendly and gave great recommendations as well.
We ordered the tempura aubergine and the hot and spicy peppers for side dishes. The tempura aubergine was so good!! So crispy and the best part of it is the dipping sauce, it is a plum sauce that tasted like yuzu? It was just so nice and refreshing. The green pepper was good as well, but it is ok to skip if you prefers something else.
My favourite here is the okonomi rosti, it’s really the BEST!! The rosti was so crispy and the sauce was so tasty, it has scallops and bacon too. I would high recommend this if you’re here!! I’ll come back just for this. The hamburger steak was good as well, the special about this dish is the pan fried the rice, I would like it with more sauce, but overall is good as well.
Overall we had a good experience here. :)

Perfect brunch date with furry friends
Surrey hill at One Holland is relatively new, you can bring your pets to join you for your meals. They also offer very interesting pet treats here, if you’re a dog lover and look good food, this is the happy place for you :) All the food here are amazing, my fav goes to the benny’s pork belly on toast! And the zesty sauce at the side being this dish to the whole new level, this is my top recommended dish here!
We also ordered a healthier meal- baked chicken with mashed potatoes, it was good as well! I’m pleasantly surprised that the meat is not dry at all even though it’s chicken breast, it’s so juicy and goes so well with the sauce!
The mentaiko pasta is something really interesting, although it doesn’t look so attractive rice as the rest, but it’s very tasty! It has a very strong umami taste and it’s something I’ve eaten it for the first time! There are many cakes selections here as well, we had the strawberry cheese cake and it was good!
I highly recommend this place, enjoy your meal! :)

Newly opened Ramen at One Holland
Ippudo is now newly opened at One Holland!! There are a few ramen places around Holland village and I’m so glad they added a new one at One Holland! I always love the Ramen at Ippudo, just sometimes I find it quite pricey to eat it in a daily basis. I love how spacious and bright here, you can have a nice view of one Holland mall and can even watch people walking around while waiting for your food.
Their ramen is always good, I ordered a miso based ramen with Char siew and it was so delicious, the broth is so fragrant and flavourful, I like to add abit of chilli powder to give the extra kick. My husband ordered the original tontkatsu based and he loved it as well, the broth is more garlicky and think. Oh, you can also choose your own thibkness of the soup, hardness of the noodles and add on options.
We even got a free drink as one of their opening promotion, just kindly sign up for membership and you’re entitled to redeem a free lemon soda. Go check out this place!

Michelin mazesoba
Visited the new mall at one Holland village and decided to try the Michelin mazesoba. I ordered two sets, one of which is minced meat and the other is the chicken. Both were quite tasty but I felt the flavor was not sufficient. However the set was quite worth as it came with a sides which I opted for tofu for one (it was super good and crispy) and the fried chicken for another. Overall food was not too bad and prices were reasonable. There was a long line during the weekends as well.
