breakfast in a 700+ years old Ottoman village
📍 cumalikizik, bursa
this is a unesco world heritage Ottoman village, located about 15minutes drive from the town. no entrance fee, we are free to roam around the village, by foot.
the architecture is unique. there’re some house opened as museum, some as a cafe/restaurant. we had traditional turkish cuisine here as breakfast. lovee the restaurant vibes. one of the best cuisine is manti (2nd pic) it is like a ravioli, with minced beef inside, served with greek yogurt, sooooo good!
we also had gözleme, turkish pancake with cay (turkish tea). price is reasonable.

A magnificent and stately World Heritage Site, the calligraphy (Islamic calligraphy) inside is also spectacular!
I was overwhelmed by the very solid exterior and the flowing calligraphy (Islamic calligraphy) inside. It is located in the center of the old town, so it is easy to access, and there are many other tourist attractions such as restaurants, shops, and a bazaar that still uses historical buildings, making it a base for sightseeing in the World Heritage city of Bursa. However, please remember to be respectful towards worshippers.

Hagia Sophia Mosque in the ancient city of Iznik
It was originally built as a church and was a historic Christian facility where the Council of Nicaea was held in ancient times, but was later renovated into a mosque and remains so to this day. Many tourists visit, but it is also visited by devout believers as an active mosque. It is located in the center of town, so it is easy to find and convenient for visiting other tourist spots. #Amazing view
An ancient city with an Ottoman atmosphere: Jemālikık, a World Heritage Site
It is a historic town that, together with Bursa, is designated as a World Heritage Site and still retains its streetscape from the Ottoman period. It is a fun tourist destination, but you can also feel the breath of local life. We had Turkish coffee in very stylish coffee cups, and the tomato puree made in a large pot was also delicious!

Visit Istanbul Mosques and get a glimpse of the beauty of the intersection of faith and architecture
Walking in Istanbul, a thousand-year-old city connecting Europe and Asia, I specially arranged a "mosque tour". Starting from the magnificent dome and blue porcelain walls of the Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque), I also visited the Green Mosque (Yesil Cami) with its beautiful garden and tranquil atmosphere along the way.
The Green Mosque is actually located in Bursa and is one of the classics of Ottoman architecture, but many travelers will include it in the Istanbul extension itinerary. It is famous for its emerald green tiles, and the interior walls are covered with exquisite Arabic calligraphy and geometric patterns. Walking in is like walking into an art hall where prayer and crafts are intertwined. Compared with other mosques in Istanbul, such as the New Mosque and the Suleymaniye Mosque, the Green Mosque has a more tranquil texture of a mountain city.
This tour made me understand more that mosques are not just religious places, but also spiritual fields where culture, architecture and history are intertwined.
📍Places to check in: Blue Mosque (Istanbul), Green Mosque (Bursa)

turkeyyyyy
in the last days of summer, I traveled across Turkey, starting in Kastamonu, where the chill of early autumn quickly crept in—its high altitude making it one of the coldest places I visited. Then came Zonguldak, alive with energy and heat, a sharp contrast. Istanbul was as beautiful as ever, full of charm but slowed by its endless traffic. Izmir stole my heart with its peace, affordability, and calm rhythm. Bursa, somehow, combined it all—cool like Kastamonu, active like Zonguldak, beautiful like Istanbul, and peaceful like Izmir. Each city had its soul, but together, they made the journey unforgettable.
The Ergandí Bridge is located in Bursa, Türkiye. It is the only Arasta bridge in the Ottoman Empire and was built in 1442. This is a rare covered bridge, which is used as a shop market. It is one of only four bridges with shops left in the world. Irgandı Köprüsü Bridge (Turkish: Irgandı Köprüsü) is a historic bridge in Bursa, Turkey, located over the Gökdere River, a tributary of the Nilüfer River.
