Baan Chao Phraya, a hip roof building located on the bank of the Chao Phraya River, near Santi Chai Prakan Park and Por Phra Sumen, Phra Athit Road. In the past, it was a palace in the palace of His Royal Highness Prince Naowarat, Krom Muen Sathit Thamrong Sawat, the son of King Pinklao.
In 1916, King Rama VI granted the palace and this land to His Royal Highness Prince Kamrob, originally named Mom Chao Kamrob Pramoj (later appointed as the first Commissioner-General of the Metropolitan Police Bureau in Thailand).
His Royal Highness Prince Kamrob resided in this palace until his death in 1939, when it was passed on to his heirs, Mom Rajawongse Thun Thaonuk, Mom Rajawongse Seni, and Mom Rajawongse Kukrit Pramoj, and then Mom Luang Atsani Pramoj, the grandchildren's heirs. However, none of the heirs lived there for a long time, so it was rented out for use.
Later, His Royal Highness Prince Naowarat Prince Sathit Thamrongsawat passed away in 1890, leaving the palace unoccupied. King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) allowed this palace to be used to welcome foreign guests for a period of time. It was once the residence of an Italian architect, Mario Tamagno, who oversaw the construction of Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall. Later, he ordered the construction of the Provincial Police Department, and it was the residence of the then-Chief of Police. When the Provincial Police Department was transferred to the Ministry of the Metropolitan Police, it was unoccupied once again.
