This old restaurant next to the Yamuliao Market in Tainan was originally named "Tianxia Restaurant" and opened in 1985. In recent years, it has been rebranded and the entire restaurant has been renovated from the inside out, mixing Taiwanese retro elements with European classical style to create a new trend that is both retro and popular. It was renamed #天下南玖. Staying in the most basic standard room, double occupancy including breakfast, costs about 3,800 yuan per night. Dark wood is paired with bronze and rattan. The headboard continues the dark wooden board, small tiles and reading lamp, which is quite British style. The bathroom uses terrazzo floors and dark green marble countertops to create a textured washing space, which is quite elegant and beautiful. Tianxia Nanyu has a variety of room types, including guest rooms and backpacker hostels. The capsule rooms with upper and lower bunks are located on the eighth floor, an open public floor with a library, a public kitchen, a retro game area, a fitness room, showers and self-service washing machines. The retro western restaurant "Dome" on the top floor has arched wooden tables and screens and red velvet chairs, which are nostalgic, elegant, luxurious and fashionable! The bedside lamp is even handcrafted ceramic! The space is huge, easily accommodating two people with 28-inch suitcases without feeling cramped. • Hidden surprises: The 8th-floor common area collaborates with Boven Magazine Library, showcasing walls of old magazines and a wooden spiral staircase that looks straight out of a movie scene! They also offer free Tainan specialty tea bags (winter melon tea, roselle tea)—perfect for a cozy nightcap. • Breakfast is divine: They serve freshly made "Tainan beef soup" (the broth is light and sweet, and the beef is incredibly tender)! Pair it with gua bao, minced pork rice, and Tainan-style tofu pudding, and it feels like a local breakfast market brought into the hotel. You’ll be full for the entire day! 📍Provintia Hotel Address: No. 202, Chenggong Road, North District, Tainan City I originally wanted to book a simple business hotel, but I found this treasure hotel. The modern retro style is also my favorite design, so I booked a room immediately. It turns out that the 35-year-old hotel "Tainan Tianxia Hotel" underwent a major renovation during the epidemic a few years ago. The design was modified into a retro and avant-garde style, and it has its current new look. As you enter the lobby, you can see all kinds of retro decorations. Details like the room key hanger also have a retro feel, which immediately adds points! The room has good lighting~ I love this simple wooden retro decoration! The location is close to the train station, food district, Chihkan Tower, art galleries and many historical temples. The convenient transportation is definitely a great value for money! This place is really cool! I'm backpacking with my boyfriend and visiting family. The breakfast has a variety of food and helpful professional staff.
