When the melody of "Beautiful Lingshui" sounded in my ears, the dreamy seaside scenery and charming folk customs seemed to bring magic, calling people to this small city in the South China Sea. March is a bright and beautiful month, which is a great time to visit Lingshui. Let’s set off with this guide.
🚩Day 1: Encounter the dreamy seaside
Arrive at Qingshui Bay in the early morning and you will be greeted by the azure sky and clear sea. The sand here is extremely fine. When you step on it barefoot, the warm touch spreads from the soles of your feet, as if you are shaking hands intimately with the sea. A must-visit place➡️The "Singing Beach". When you walk on it, your feet will make crisp and pleasant sounds, as if the sea is humming softly. Near noon, we came to "Danjia Harbor Seafood Restaurant" to start a seafood feast. Try their steamed grouper. After the fresh grouper is steamed, the fish meat is tender and smooth. Just dip it in a little soy sauce to make the freshness bloom on the tip of your tongue. There is also coconut rice, which is soft, glutinous, sweet, and has a rich coconut fragrance. Every bite is full of island style.
In the afternoon, take a short break and head to the beach bar at Raffles Hotel. Lie on a comfortable beach chair, order a glass of cool coconut milk, stare at the endless sea, or join a beach volleyball game, sweat and enjoy this relaxing time.
In the evening, accompanied by the afterglow of the setting sun, stroll along the beach, visit those unique seaside shops, pick out some exquisite shell crafts or refrigerator magnets with marine elements, and bring this beautiful seaside memory home.
🚩Day 2: Explore the Rainforest Folklore
In the morning, we went to Diaoluo Mountain National Forest Park. As soon as you enter the forest, it feels like you have stepped into a green fairy tale world. The towering trees block out the sun, and the sunlight shines through the gaps between the leaves, forming golden beams of light, just like a dreamland. Walking along the winding trail, you must visit Xiaomei Lake, with its clear green water and surrounded by mountains, like a piece of jade lost in the world; there is also Fengguoshan Waterfall, with multiple levels of waterfalls rushing down, majestic and splashing. Standing under the waterfall, you can feel the coolness and shock coming towards you, as if all your troubles have been washed away.

At noon, we had lunch at the farmhouse in the park. I recommend trying the stir-fried pork with thunder bamboo shoots. The thunder bamboo shoots have a crisp texture and are stir-fried with tender pork. It is sour and spicy and delicious, which will increase your appetite. Have a bowl of mountain orchid rice, which has full grains and a unique grain aroma, adding a touch of rustic flavor to this lunch.
In the afternoon, head to the Coconut Field Ancient Village. This is where the Li and Miao ethnic groups live, and traditional boat-shaped houses are scattered around. When you enter the ancient village, you can see old ladies sitting at the door weaving Li brocade. The patterns are exquisite and complex, the colors are gorgeous and dazzling, and every stitch and every thread inherits the ancient craft. There are also Li guys performing amazing stunts such as walking on a mountain of knives and diving into a sea of fire. Interact with the villagers, learn about their customs and habits, and feel their strong enthusiasm and simplicity.
In the evening, we returned to Lingshui County and plunged into the bustling central market. Find a stall and order a bowl of steaming Lingshui sour rice noodles. Fine rice noodles are served with a special sour and spicy marinade, and sprinkled with beef jerky, peanuts, fish cakes and other ingredients. The sour, sweet and spicy tastes are intertwined together, instantly awakening your taste buds and immersing you in this world of fireworks.
🚩Day 3: Enjoy the fun at sea
In the morning, head to the Tanka fishing raft. Taking a small boat through the densely packed fishing rafts feels like being in a water maze. This is where the Tanka people live. Watch them skillfully cast nets to catch fish and raise seafood, and experience their unique life on the water. Find a fishing raft restaurant and taste the Tanka seafood hotpot. The seafood is caught and cooked immediately and is extremely fresh. The shrimps are jumping in the pot and the crabs are waving their claws. In just a few moments, a pot of fresh and fragrant seafood soup will appear before your eyes. It is authentic and amazing.
At noon, we continued to enjoy the food on the fishing raft and ordered a plate of blanched shrimps. The blanched shrimps are most sweet, the shrimp meat is crystal clear and very elastic in the mouth. We also had steamed crabs, which were big and fat. After steaming, the crab roe was full and the crab meat was tender. The process of peeling the crabs was also a pleasure.
In the afternoon, we arrived at Perfume Bay. Rent a parasol and a beach chair, lie on the beach, bask in the warm sunshine, listen to the sound of the waves, and completely relax your body and mind. Or you can rent a surfboard and bravely rush towards the waves under the guidance of a coach to experience the excitement and thrill of surfing.
