What does Sagrada Familia mean?
✨Gaudi never got to see it finished during his lifetime, but you might.
🏯Sagrada Familia, Barcelona's second-highest tower was formally inaugurated on Wednesday, with the illumination of the massive 5.5-ton star that shines at the top. Construction on this holy masterpiece has been ongoing since 1882, which was supposed to be completed by 2026, but the COVID-19 epidemic prompted the consortium to revise their plans.
⛪️Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who designed Sagrada Familia, meant to create a "Bible made of stone," with many cryptical symbols mirrored in its buildings, sculptures, and ornamentation. 🌈
💗Rome was not constructed in a day, and neither was Sagrada Familia. The Star was eventually lighted after 139 years.
