Deqing Summer Escape: A Two-Day Cool Adventure
Just got back from a refreshing trip to Deqing with friends, where it was nearly 10 degrees cooler—absolutely amazing! I had no idea Deqing hid so many treasure spots, with temperatures 5-10 degrees lower than the city. For friends in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai looking for a cool summer getaway, don’t miss this travel guide!

Next, visit the "Meet the Earth's Core" waterfall cave—a dreamy photo spot. Afterward, explore Yaowu, packed with fun activities and cool mountain breezes. End the day strolling along Moghan Yu Street, soaking in the artsy vibe.
**Day 2**
Start the day splashing around at Senbo Water Park to beat the heat. Enjoy a delicious lunch at Baile Street in the afternoon. Then, head to the "Black Sand Beach Mini Iceland" for Instagram-worthy shots. Join the "Chasing Light" program at dusk for a breathtaking sunset. Cap off the night with a romantic firefly experience.
**Treasure Spot Recommendations**
**Jiangnan Yaowu – Deqing's Little Jiuzhaigou**
At the foot of the mountain lies an emerald-green pool amidst bamboo forests, crystal-clear to the bottom. Up the mountain, several castles make perfect photo backdrops. Take the cable car up and feel the temperature drop—super refreshing! Enjoy activities like cloud coasters, glass rafting, and rail sledding, all with minimal hiking required.
**Black Sand Beach Café**
Featuring an Iceland-inspired diamond-black sand beach with a unique texture and an old plane for photo ops—every shot looks like a masterpiece.
**Meet the Earth's Core · Cave Café**
Transformed from an ancient Han Dynasty copper mine, the cave is about 10 degrees cooler inside. The waterfall area is a prime photo spot with stunning results.
**Chasing Light Program**
A newly popular sunset spot! The mountain is cool and breezy, with a viewing platform and photo spots—best of all, it’s free! Enjoy live music and performances while basking in the sunset—pure chill vibes!
**At Yunqi Ju**
An immersive firefly experience base that’s both fun and educational. Fireflies of various species glow around you on land and water, creating a magical romance.
**Moganshan Senbo Water Park**
In summer, besides the outdoor areas, sun-shy folks can enjoy thrilling indoor water slides, kids’ water playgrounds, and Egyptian-themed performances—don’t forget to snap pics with the NPCs!
**Suspended Swimming & Mountain Forest Rafting**
Newly opened this year, this nearly 4km-long rafting adventure takes about 2 hours, featuring plunges, twists, and cave sections. Just when you think it’s over at the bottom, you can climb back up for another round! Night rafting is also an option for those avoiding the sun.
**Moghan Yu Street · Yucun Park**
Full of artistic charm, the town is currently hosting a "Small Town Life Festival" with markets, fantasy music festivals, and rooftop parties—mostly free to join! Enjoy summer fun with locals and tourists. Event runs until 8/31, Fri-Sun, 18:45-22:00.
**Travel Tips**
All these spots are close together, just a 1-hour drive from Hangzhou, and 1-3 hours from southern Jiangsu, northern Zhejiang, and Shanghai. Parking is easy too! Foodies must try Dingpo Wontons, Sanhe Green Shrimp Noodles, and Zhao’s Vermicelli Pot at Baile and Jixiang Streets. Don’t miss Xiaohonghua Coffee and Chali Shi Panda in Yucun!
