Amagi Mountain traverses the Izu Peninsula from east to west, dividing Izu into two from the middle, called North Izu and South Izu respectively. Yushima is located at the southern end of the foothills on the north side of Mt. Amagi, surrounded by beautiful cedar forests. The long Kano River forms a deep valley here. This area has been loved by many literati since ancient times, and the Yumotokan Hotel in Yushima is also the place where Yasunari Kawabata chose to write "Izu Dancer".
