Martock - Queen Edith's Home Village
Despite being a very small village, Martock in Somerset has played a vital role in English history, being pivotal to the struggles between the Angles, the Jutes and the invading Norman's. The Treasurer's House has been lived in continuously since it was built in 1190, and has been central to the events that have shaped local history, from violent wars to religious oppression. What a fascinating place to visit! #historicallandmarks #familytrip #martock #somerset #england

Stone henge is a must see!
This summer the visit to Somerset Stone Henge was amazing ! It is historical and magical, lots to see and read. Visiting the attraction allows for learning and discovery, British culture and history is also at the heart of the city so the guides were very helpful and informative. Bath is the largest city, where the University of Bath, ranked 187th in the 2013 QS World University Rankings, is located. Wells is another city. Christmas is England! 🎄
Nothing says ‘Merry Christmas’ like a trip to England in the winter! The frost settles on the fields as the mist rises in the cold morning breeze. The sun shines low in the sky as the birds scavenge little berries off the trees. The air is filled with the smells of home baking, and everyone has that air of busy excitement. In England at this time of year every home and village Centre is decorated with lights and decorations.#christmas #england #falltrip #freehotelstay #somerset
English Walled Gardens
A classic feature of the English countryside is the concept of the ‘Walled Garden’. Walled gardens are private enclosed spaces, usually attached to elite country homes, where the rich and successful grow exotic and interesting plants, including those from abroad and those which can be eaten. Nowadays many walled gardens remain private, while others have been opened to the public. Most houses with walled gardens also boast open parklands which are more ‘wild’ in appearance, and often feature larger trees, which would not fit in a walled garden.#falltrip #freehotelstay #garden #england #flowers
