The Star Ferry is a must ride if you're in HK. It used to be one the few options to cross the harbor before the cross harbor tunnels were built. It is still the cheapest way to get from HK to Kowloon and vice versa. It is much slower than the MTR or bus, but it's much more scenic and fun! So do try it out if you have time. Along the way, you'll be treated with breathtaking views of the HK skyline. There is an open air section as well as an indoor air conditioned section. I recommend the outdoor section as the views are much better. The Star Ferry takes passengers across Victoria Harbour, between Hong Kong Island, and Kowloon. The ferry is very affordable, and comfortable to ride and it takes you around 8 minutes to reach the other side. We made use of the ferry with our four month old and 5 year old and it was definitely child and stroller friendly. The nights views on the ferry were amazing. It is truly an amazing and relaxing experience and many photos can be taken.
