The salt wells here are like the fantastic scenes from "Journey to the Center of the Earth," descending hundreds of meters underground. The mine is filled with high-tech features, and the stunning geological rock walls are a must-see! 🍃 Day 4 🚞 Turda ➡ Sibiu The last stop is Sibiu, a city once voted as one of the "Eight Most Livable Garden Cities in Europe," but it's better known as the "City with Eyes." 🌈 The houses here have skylights under the sloping roofs, which from a distance look like half-open eyes 👀, which is very interesting. Yes, you read that right, there is a theme part in this salt mine in Romania. A truly magical day out for you and your family. If activities are your main drive, then Rudolf Mine has a range of fun activities for kids and adults including an amphitheatre, sports pitch, bowling, mini-golf, table tennis etc. and a panoramic wheel/ Ferris wheel located 120m underground. Continue in the Theresa Mine, where you can even rent a boat on the salty lake and see the mine from a different perspective. Overall, we had a great time at the salt mine and would highly recommend it. Definitely worth visiting and a must do for the next time you are in Romania. Stepping into this ancient salt mine felt like entering another underground world. The sheer scale of it is just unreal, and the way the light plays off the salt walls creates these incredible, stunning patterns. It's truly a sight to behold. Another reason you should visit is, this clean salty air wake me up from my jet lag. I was expecting a cool historical site, but nope, it's basically an underground amusement park. I'm talking about getting to watch a theater performance 🎭 (how cool is that?!), shopping for some awesome Romanian tourist merch 🛍️to remember my trip by, and even playing a round of mini-golf ⛳deep beneath the Earth! You HAVE to ride a boat on the salt lake 🚣♂️. Seriously, do it. It was easily the most romantic 40 lei I've ever spent.
