Wat Kong (Wat Sri Mongkol), Tha Wang Pha District, Nan Province
🏛️ History & Faith
Wat Sri Mongkol, also known as "Wat Kong," is located in Yom Subdistrict, Tha Wang Pha District. It was granted the royal temple status in 1852 (B.E. 2395). In 1931 (B.E. 2474), villagers invited Luang Pu Khruba Kong (Phra Khru Mongkol Rangsi) to restore the abandoned temple, transforming it into a place for spiritual practice and a community center. Today, it stands as a significant temple for the people of Nan.
