Wong Tai Sin Cultural Park, which combines Chinese and Western design
Wong Tai Sin Cultural Park is located in Morris Park, Wong Tai Sin, Kowloon. The house number is 8 Tai Cheng Street, Chuk Yuen, Wong Tai Sin District, Hong Kong. The original site of the park was the nursery at Morris 2 Park.
Wong Tai Sin is one of the areas with a relatively concentrated aging population in Hong Kong, so this type of small park is very suitable for them. I passed by this morning and saw my grandparents playing Tai Chi at the Tai Chi Plaza in the park. There are several elderly people gathering at the chess park to chat. On the other side of the hall there is a walking area of Shichun Road, which are some good facilities for the elderly.
In addition, there are two exhibits in the park that preserve Chinese culture. The first is a century-old well, originally a water well in Shigulong Village, with an exhibition sign next to it. The second is a sundial, which is a device for knowing the time of day by looking at the position of the sun. It looks like a paper airplane and somewhat like a three-dimensional compass.
The two entrances to the park, one round and one square, symbolize the ancient Chinese cosmology of "round sky and place". The two sets of attractions, along with a "human"-shaped recreational space in the center of the park, represent the spirit of traditional Chinese culture that emphasizes the harmony of heaven, earth and man.
