For those interested in hiking in Taiwan, I highly recommend trying the route to Cuichi Lake below the main and east peaks of Snow Mountain. The trail is approximately 11 kilometers to reach the summit, and after another 2 kilometers of downhill hiking, you'll arrive at Cuichi Lake, which is where we (and most hikers) usually spend the night. This route is not particularly easy, and some sections can be quite dangerous. It's advisable to go with experienced hiking companions and ensure good weather conditions.

The drive takes approximately 4 hours. • By public transport: Take Taiwan Railways to Yilan Station, then transfer to a bus heading to Wuling Farm. The journey takes about 2 hours. ⸻ 📝 Personal Experience Snow Mountain East Peak is located on the eastern side of Snow Mountain Main Peak, with an elevation of 3,201 meters. It ranks 74th among Taiwan's 100 Peaks. Starting from the Snow Mountain trailhead at Wuling Farm, the one-way hike is about 5 kilometers, making it a 10-kilometer round trip with an elevation gain of approximately 1,061 meters. This trail is ideal for beginner hikers with good physical fitness. The hiking route passes through Qika Cabin and Crying Slope before reaching the summit of East Peak. Crying Slope is the most challenging section of the trail due to its steep incline, but maintaining a steady pace will help you conquer it successfully. The summit offers breathtaking views of Wuling's Four Beauties, Nanhu Mountain, Central Peak, and the Hehuan Mountain Range. With its clear trail and well-maintained facilities, Snow Mountain East Peak has become a popular choice for many hikers as their first climb among Taiwan's 100 Peaks.

On the second day, we returned to Sanliujiu Villa after reaching the summit, and returned to the trailhead on the third day. Difficulty: Relatively high, suitable for experienced climbers.
