The atmosphere is vibrant, with street cafes, local markets, and friendly people. Don’t miss the Timișoara Orthodox Cathedral, a gorgeous piece of architecture. Close by, you can also visit the Banat Village Museum for a glimpse of Romanian rural life. If you’re a history buff, the 1989 Revolution Museum is a must. Many people even haven't heard about this place, but actually it is one of the largest cities in Romania. The city is called Timişoara. It is located very far from the capital so the best way to access it is by plane. Also it is very close to the Hungarian border, so a quick hop from Budapest is also possible. #happynewyear

Timișoara Fortress (Cetatea Timișoara), located right near the city center of Timișoara in western Romania, is a super historic spot! What's there to do here? ⭐️ Explore the fortress itself: Though it's not a complete castle anymore (parts were destroyed in past wars), the remaining walls, towers (especially the Water Tower), and fortification ruins have an amazing vibe! Take a stroll, snap some photos, and imagine soldiers guarding this place centuries ago. 🕰️ Visit the Banat Village Museum: This museum is right inside the fortress area! A must-see! It recreates traditional rural life from the entire Banat region, with old houses, churches, windmills… like an open-air historical village—super interesting and great for photos! 🏛️ Check out the Banat Museum: Also in this area. Want to learn about Timișoara and the Banat region's history? From ancient Rome to modern times, it's all here, with a rich collection of exhibits (some weapons and torture devices are quite striking). ☕️ Grab a drink nearby: The area around the fortress is very laid-back, with cozy cafés and small restaurants. Take a break with coffee or ice cream and soak in the atmosphere. In short: Timișoara Fortress is the "historic heart" of the city! Spend half a day walking the ruins, visiting two fantastic museums (especially the Banat Village Museum!), and experiencing the blend of past and present—totally worth it! Fântâna cu Pești | Timisoara Quiet Fountain Attraction 🎏⛲️ While walking around Timisoara Old Town, I stumbled upon this quiet and lovely fountain. There is a fish sculpture in the center, and the sound of the water trickling down is so peaceful.
