Achilleion Palace, Corfu

#summervacay Visiting Achilleion Palace was like walking through a mythological drama. Built for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, the gardens are dotted with statues of Achilles and Greco‑Roman figures, all set among lush Italian-style terraces. Inside, opulent frescoes and royal furnishings transported me to a bygone era of elegance. The views over Corfu’s coastline were superb too. It was a cultured afternoon steeped in legend, art, and Mediterranean grandeur.
