🍂 Near Kunming, a Theravada temple hides in the forest ☁️ Yunnan has three types of Buddhism: Han Buddhism, Theravada Buddhism, and Tibetan Buddhism. 🌲 Located in the outskirts of Anning near Kunming, the Yunnan Buddhist College features corresponding temples for each type of Buddhism. 🛵 Visiting on a weekend, there were almost no people. Among the three temples at the Buddhist College, the Theravada Buddhist temple is built against the mountain, exuding grandeur with every detail meticulously crafted. The meditation hall behind the temple is hidden deep in the dense forest— at this moment, except for the temperature, it felt like being back in Southeast Asia, with hardly any tourists. 🙏 Occasionally, students in monastic robes can be seen around the college, all very polite. Devotees often come to worship and chat. ♦️ Navigate to "Yunnan Buddhist College," 36km from Kunming. ♦️ From Anning, take Bus 18 and get off at Anning Hot Springs Station. ♦️ No entrance fee; visiting time is around 2 hours. ♦️ Recommend also visiting Caoxi Temple nearby, where vegetarian meals are served.
