🏰 Wandering Through Time – A Stroll Along Bern’s UNESCO Old Town

Walking through Bern’s Old Town was like flipping through the pages of a beautifully illustrated history book. The cobbled streets, medieval arcades, and charming sandstone buildings gave the whole area a timeless feel. You can see why it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site—everything is so well preserved, yet still very much alive with cafes, locals, and shops. We took our time strolling under the arcades, which not only protected us from the sun but also added character to the walk. The street fountains, especially the Kindlifresserbrunnen (Child Eater Fountain), were both fascinating and a little bizarre—definitely made us stop and take a second look. The view of the Aare River from the bridges was stunning, and we loved how the city blends natural beauty with architectural elegance. Even the quiet side streets felt like a discovery. Everything was walkable, and it was easy to feel immersed in the atmosphere without a set plan.
