Greenwich Observatory: A Must-Visit Destination Accessible via a Thames River Cruise!

Located a bit away from central London, the Greenwich Observatory is a place you might remember from world history classes as the home of the Prime Meridian. As an observatory, it features numerous telescopes and other astronomical exhibits (though I’m not an expert in this field, so I can’t explain them all in detail!). One of the telescopes, shown in the second image, allows visitors to actually look through it and see Saturn! I was amazed by how clearly I could see it, likely thanks to the clear weather. If you take a Thames River cruise to Greenwich, you’ll enjoy views of landmarks like the London Eye and London Bridge along the way. Don’t forget your sunscreen and enjoy the ride! Once you disembark, it’s about a 20-minute walk to the observatory, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. The observatory is situated atop a hill, requiring you to climb some steep slopes and stairs. It might feel challenging, but the breathtaking views when you look back make it all worthwhile.
