It stands quietly at the confluence of the Li River and the Taohua River, as if it has come from ancient times and will continue to watch over the land for eternity. Strolling along the riverbank, the breeze carries the moist freshness of the water, bringing a sense of tranquility. Lifting your gaze, the silhouette of Elephant Trunk Hill becomes even clearer under the sunlight, with the mountain and river complementing each other like an unfolding ink painting. Between the "elephant's trunk" and "elephant's leg," the Water Moon Cave appears as translucent as a full moon, with the river gently flowing through it, its shimmering ripples a testament to nature's breathtaking craftsmanship. Entering the Water Moon Cave, the interior is cool and pleasant. The cliff carvings on the stone walls, weathered by time, still exude an ancient charm. These carvings are imprints of history, poems and stories left by ancestors, quietly recounting tales of the past and allowing me to transcend time and converse with those who came before. Following the winding stone path up the hill, lush vegetation and wildflowers bloom freely along the way. Upon reaching the summit, the view opens up, revealing the beauty of Guilin in its entirety. Rolling mountains stretch endlessly into the distance, while the Li River meanders like an emerald ribbon, dotted with leisurely bamboo rafts that adorn this picturesque landscape. At Elephant Trunk Hill, every scene is imbued with the tenderness of nature and the weight of time. With every breath, you can feel the gifts of the natural world.
