Joetsu City Aquarium Museum (very beautiful colors)

#5月好去处2025 The Joetsu Aquarium is located in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture. The entire aquarium faces the Sea of Japan. It is a modern aquarium that opened in 2018. The biggest feature is the fusion of marine displays and regional characteristics (Sado coastal waters, Myoko Mountain area), and it has Japan's largest "Mazeran Penguin Exhibition Area" and a white whale tank overlooking the sea. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from JR "Naoetsu Station" to the aquarium. It was snowing that day and I walked there. Because of the snow, some places outdoors were closed. I like the color of the entire aquarium very much.
