Kamikatsu Town, about 42km southwest of Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture "Yamainudake" is a small hill with an elevation of 997.6m, with an entrance on the outskirts of a small village in the mountains, far from civilization. It is said that the name came from the fact that there used to be a rock on top of the mountain that looked like a wild dog howling at the sky (it has now collapsed and is no longer there). Yamainudake is one of the most famous moss spots in Japan, with a landscape of giant rocks and countless sphagnum moss spreading out in the virgin forest. In addition, along the mountain path, stone Buddha statues of the "Mini Shikoku 88 Temples" are enshrined, creating a solemn atmosphere. You can also enjoy a little pilgrimage atmosphere. Near the peak is Daishido/Ryuozan Tokoji Temple, but it is uninhabited. The peak is not open and there is no view. There is only a small shrine enshrined.
