Ayutthaya Temples

📍**“Wat Phra Si Sanphet”** is one of the most significant temples in Ayutthaya and is considered a symbol of religious and cultural prosperity during that era. The most striking feature you’ll notice upon arrival is the three large stupas lined up in the center of the temple. These stupas house the royal relics of Ayutthaya kings. The stupas are bell-shaped in the Lankan art style, exuding elegance and power. If you visit during the morning or evening, the light beautifully reflects off the stupas, making it a perfect spot for photography. This temple was not used as a residence for monks. In the past, it was a royal temple within the palace grounds, used for important royal ceremonies such as coronations or oaths. Although the temple was destroyed during the second fall of Ayutthaya to the Burmese in 1767, remnants of the ancient site still remain, allowing visitors to feel the grandeur of the past.
