【Mountain Travel Notes】Lingtong Mountain, Pinghe

We drove from Xiamen to the foot of Lingtong Mountain in Pinghe, setting off early in the morning. The journey took about 2 hours, and when we arrived, the morning mist had not yet dissipated. We had already stepped into Lingtong Mountain, with our final destination being the Hanging Temple on the mountain. Known as the "Number One Mountain in Southern Fujian," its exposed rugged volcanic rocks, carved by wind and rain over hundreds of millions of years, resemble giant natural swords splitting the clouds. The path from the foot of the mountain to the Hanging Temple is not difficult to climb, mostly consisting of stone steps. The children were curious along the way, making the journey slow, and it took nearly 2 hours to reach the Hanging Temple. Coincidentally, it started to rain, and clear springs seeped from the rock crevices. We were fortunate to witness the spectacular "Beaded Curtain Turning into Rain," but unfortunately, without a camera, we couldn't capture the beauty we saw. Soon after, the rain stopped and the sky cleared, revealing the sun as the clouds dispersed, making everything suddenly bright and clear. 📍Tips: 1️⃣ For self-driving, navigate to the parking lot of Qingyun Hotel 🅿 2️⃣ Parking fee: 10💰, entrance ticket: 20💰 3️⃣ Hiking route: There will be a fork in the road when you reach Qingyun Temple, so pay attention to the signs. 4️⃣ The path to the Hanging Temple is not difficult, mostly steps. 5️⃣ The Hanging Temple provides hot water and instant noodles for sale, as well as a vegetarian restaurant, though the food is mediocre. 6️⃣ You can bring some coins for the wishing and coin-tossing spots. 7️⃣ When hiking in summer, be sure to protect against mosquitoes and insects.
