[Osaka] Sakai City Daisenryo Tomb (Emperor Nintoku's Tomb)

#AbsolutelyFreeTrip The Daisenryo Tomb (Emperor Nintoku's Tomb), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest ancient tomb in Japan and one of the largest in the world. It is said to be one of the three largest tombs in the world, along with the Pyramid of Khufu in Egypt and the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor in China. When viewed from above, it has a unique Japanese shape of a keyhole-shaped tomb that combines a circle and a square, and is estimated to have been built over a period of about 20 years in the mid-5th century. It is the largest keyhole-shaped tomb in Japan, and is called the Mozu-Mimihara Three Tombs along with the Emperor Hanzei's Tomb (Tadeiyama Tomb) to the north and the Emperor Richu's Tomb (Misanzai Tomb) to the south, and is currently managed by the Imperial Household Agency as the middle tomb and Emperor Nintoku's tomb. The mound, with its front part facing south, is built in three tiers with a total length of about 486m, a diameter of about 249m at the rear, a height of about 35.8m, a width of about 307m at the front, and a height of about 33.9m. It was so big that I didn't feel like walking around it. A volunteer from Sakai City told me that I could see a little bit from the footbridge at Mozu Station, so I went there, but I guess you can't see the shape unless you're at a higher position. The observation deck at Sakai-Higashi City Hall seems to be recommended.
