#summervacay We were craving something hearty and fast, so we headed to Guzman y Gomez at Northpoint — one of those go-to spots when you're in the mood for something satisfying but not too heavy. It sits right by the entrance of the Northpoint food street area, and you can always tell it’s a popular pick from the steady line of people grabbing lunch or dinner on the go. The vibe here is loud in a good way — lively music, sizzling sounds from the open kitchen, and a quick-moving queue of burrito lovers. There’s a mix of solo diners, couples, and small groups tucking into bowls, tacos, and wraps, all under the warm yellow glow of the signage and that unmistakable GYG buzz. It’s not the place you’d go for a slow, quiet meal — but for a quick flavour bomb with energy, it hits the spot. We got the classic burrito — packed, warm, and just the right amount of messy. The rice was fluffy, the beans creamy, and the meat (we went with grilled chicken) was well-seasoned and tender. Wrapped in a soft tortilla with melted cheese, guac, and salsa, every bite was loaded. You could taste a little of everything without one thing overpowering the rest. It’s the kind of burrito that leaves you full but still craving one more bite. There’s not a lot of seating, but we were lucky to grab a counter spot. It’s functional — high stools, quick turnover — but that suits the place. You’re here for bold flavours, not long conversations. In and out in under 30 minutes, but totally satisfied. Fast, flavourful, and fun — exactly what we needed.
