A must-see serious art exhibition in Georgia

Walking past the Georgian Museum of Fine Arts on a sunny day, you'll be instantly captivated by this museum building. Its facade is adorned with eagle sculptures, said to be inspired by ancient statues discovered in the Vani caves of western Georgia, which have become the museum's symbol. The circular glass refracts sunlight, making the entire building radiant and solemn. Inside, there are three floors of exhibition space with a completely transparent staircase design in the center - just remember not to wear short skirts! The museum houses 3,500 works, featuring masterpieces of painting and sculpture by 80 Georgian artists from 1945 to the present, along with a small collection of works from the 1920s. The exhibits showcase the stylistic evolution from the socialist realism period through the Soviet Union's dissolution to post-independence, where modern and classical elements echo each other.
