Tokyo's Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden Starts Early Morning Opening

Tokyo's Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden has begun its early morning opening hours, with regular marathon events scheduled until the end of March next year. The early morning opening for the fiscal year 2025 aims to promote public health through running while fostering a better society by improving urban living and environmental conditions. The events are managed by the Tokyo Marathon Foundation. (1) Schedule Dates: July 13 (Sun), July 27 (Sun), August 2 (Sat), August 10 (Sun), August 24 (Sun), September 14 (Sun), September 28 (Sun), October 4 (Sat), October 12 (Sun), October 26 (Sun), November 9 (Sun), November 23 (Sun), December 6 (Sat), December 14 (Sun), December 28 (Sun), January 11 (Sun), January 25 (Sun), February 7 (Sat), February 8 (Sun), February 21 (Sat)–23 (Mon), February 25 (Wed)–28 (Sat), March 8 (Sun), March 22 (Sun). *Note: Events may be canceled or rescheduled due to weather conditions. (2) Early Morning Opening Time Starts at 7:00 AM (two hours earlier than usual). (3) Admission Fees General: ¥500, Seniors (65+) and Students: ¥250, Free for children under middle school age. *Visitors can continue to enjoy the garden after 9:00 AM. *Annual pass holders and IC card users can also enter. (4) Entrance Gates From 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, only the Shinjuku Gate will be open (Okido Gate and Sendagaya Gate will remain closed). *After 9:00 AM, all gates will be open as usual. (5) Activities During Early Morning Opening (7:00 AM–9:00 AM) In July, a running class (limited to 30 participants) and a family sports class (limited to 30 families) will be held. To participate, please register via the official ONE TOKYO website. Activities for August and beyond will be announced and opened for registration on the same website as decisions are made. *Reservation required via the official website. *Visitors not participating in activities can still enter during the early morning hours.
