250 Years of Grandeur: Toledo Cathedral

Towering over the hill of Toledo, at the heart of the walled city, stands the majestic Toledo Cathedral (Catedral Primada de Toledo). Its grand spire, visible from afar, seems to encapsulate the passage of time for the entire city. Construction began in 1227 and was completed in 1493, achieving the pinnacle of Gothic architecture in just 250 years. Among the countless chapels within the cathedral, the chapels dedicated to Saint Christopher and Saint James are harmoniously arranged. The treasury room showcases masterpieces by renowned artists such as El Greco, Van Dyck, Luca Giordano, and Goya, along with ornate Eucharistic decorations that captivate the eyes.
