📍Uchiko Town A nostalgic landscape spreads before you, as if you had traveled back in time. Uchiko was a town that prospered from the late Edo period to the Taisho period through the production of wood wax. The streets of Yokaichi and Gokoku still retain a strong trace of that time. Traditional townhouses and wealthy merchants' mansions stand side by side along the 600m street, just as they were back then. If you take a leisurely stroll, you'll notice the pale yellow earthen walls. These walls are made from local soil.
