Daishan Lake gave us the kind of quiet escape we didn’t know we needed. The lake itself was broad and gentle, with soft waves moving like breath. Boats drifted slowly across the water, and the horizon stretched wide and clear. We stood by the shore for a while, just watching no rush, no noise.
