The rain changed everything not in a dramatic way, but in a soft, quiet way that made the old town feel even older. Stone paths turned dark and glossy, and ripples danced gently across the canals. We wandered with umbrellas in hand, the sound of rain tapping rooftops and dripping off red lanterns creating a rhythm more calming than any playlist.
