[Tokyo] Founded by a pilgrim to Ise Shrine

Hakkei Tenso Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 Tenso Shrine is located in Sanno, Ota Ward. The deity worshipped is Amaterasu Omikami. Founded during the Kyoho era (1716-1736). In order to visit Ise Shrine, local village headmen, elders, and farmers formed the "Ise Ko". It is said that they visited Ise Shrine and received a branch of the deity and enshrined it. During the Edo period, it was under the management of Ennoji Temple, but in the Meiji era, due to the separation of Shinto and Buddhism, it was renamed "Shinmeiyama Tenso Shrine". Within the grounds, there is a sacred "shii" tree that is about 400 years old.
