Suzhou Ciyun Zen Temple: A Journey of Zen

Located in the ancient town of Zhenze in Suzhou, Ciyun Zen Temple is a tranquil and traditional temple. Established during the Xianchun era of the Song Dynasty (1265–1274), it boasts a long history and rich cultural heritage. The temple's main attraction is the Ciyun Temple Pagoda, built during the Three Kingdoms period. This five-story structure combines brick and wood, and when the wind blows, the wind chimes produce a melodious sound. Beneath the pagoda lies a stone tablet that bears traces of history. Inside the temple, the Grand Hall of Great Hero houses solemn Buddha statues. Surrounding the temple is a beautiful garden, filled with lush greenery and fragrant flowers, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll.
