Guapos ぐあぽす - The Top Skewer Izakaya in Osaka

Guapos ぐあぽす is a local izakaya specializing in chicken skewers, tucked away in the residential alleys of Osaka's Uehommachi area. The interior boasts a spacious and artsy vibe, steering clear of the cramped and greasy atmosphere typical of traditional izakayas. Their menu focuses on grilled chicken parts and Spanish tapas, so delicious you'll want to compliment the chef! I ordered the chef's chicken set, which included lean chicken cuts, skewers of chicken breast, cartilage, wings, and chicken meatballs, along with a ham platter, tomato baguette, tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet), chicken soup, and cheese tofu. Every dish was perfectly seasoned, and the grilling was impeccable. After finishing the set, I couldn't resist ordering a small bowl of ramen. The rich chicken broth was absolutely stunning! This place is so good that I had to plan a revisit. The owner is super friendly, speaks better English than I do, and is great to chat with! However, reservations are a must. When I arrived at 5:30 PM, the place was already full. I added the restaurant on Instagram, and the owner told me there might be availability around 9 PM. Sure enough, I got a call at 9:15 PM and rushed over. After enjoying my meal, I immediately booked another visit for two days later to try their grilled chicken innards and oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl)!
